Sorry

I am sorry for the future generations
I am sorry that you didn’t get to see a tree
Because we were blinded
by greed for a booming economy
I am sorry that there is not enough air
on this earth for
Your lungs
because we were to young and dumb
To make a change
Because we couldn’t see through the gas that was
blocking our faces and clogging our veins

I am sorry that we couldn’t find a solution
Or get on the plane of hope to Mars
Because we couldn’t save the earth we had been living on for billions and billions of years
I am sorry that we never followed the
“reduce, reuse, recycle”
Or
“save the earth”
Because it was dying right before our eyes
Ask yourselves where is a future on a dying planet

I am sorry for the future generations
I am sorry that you didn’t get to see a tree
Because we were blinded
by greed for a booming economy
