Looking for a Government

I’m looking for a government.
One whose climate policy
Is more than climate hypocrisy.
One who stays true
To what they say they will do
Instead of moving so fast
To more oil and gas.

I’m looking for a government
That doesn’t buy quick fixes.
One that won’t put prices
On fixing the climate crisis.
One that won’t plant trees
For the PR on TV.

I’m looking for a government
That will recognize the problem.
One that knows action is the only way
And all that talking can do is delay.
One with a plan for solution
Not just retribution
And one that knows the day to act is today.
